We know many prayers have been given and fasting has happened on his behalf. Thank you for all the time and thoughts for Dexton.</div><div><br></div><div>We wanted everyone to know the latest with Dexton. Right now he is on a plane on his way home, with an Honorable Medical Release. While in the DC South mission Dexton has worked with several medical professionals to try to find a resolution to his sleeping issue. As parents we are so grateful for the proactive approach of a very loving Mission President and mission doctor. But Dexton has been getting less and less sleep even with all the resources they offered. He is now averaging between 1-3 hours a night. So yesterday the decision was made to have him come home to get better. </div><div><br></div><div>This may be a surprise to many, especially if you are following his blog. He has looked great in photos & been so positive in letters and incredibly obedient through this trial. JB and I have been at peace with this decision and know that this is the next step that we need to take. This is a happy time. We are celebrating a return of a young missionary who served faithfully for 6 months. His goal is to get back out on his mission-but it will take several months for his body to heal. Don't hesitate to stop by and say hi to him while he is home. Ask him about his mission experiences. Ask him about the things he is working on to stay busy and engaged in the missionary spirit and missionary work. We are blessed to live in an area that has many missionary opportunities that we can take advantage of while he gets the rest he needs. </div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for you love and prayers. We love you all.</div><div>Nicole, JB, Dexton and family</div>Dexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103391190306391811noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1949670988447697333.post-61356482490797790942014-03-24T09:56:00.000-06:002014-03-24T09:56:05.348-06:00March 24 - Email Home - Transferred to Burke-the Mission Office<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">Yep, this week was transfers. It was a region wide stake </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">conference meaning that all of the stakes within our mission </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">boundaries were part of a broadcast from SLC. We had two Seventies, a </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">member of the Primary Presidency (I believe), and Elder L. Tom Perry. </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">They talked about the hastening of the work, and about how to improve </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">one's self in relation to the gospel, so that they could spread the </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">gospel better.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">Yesterday was pretty eventful! We love our Elder Armstrong!</span><br />

Sounds like the Armstrong home has been busy, but not too crazy!<br /><br />I'm glad everyone is doing well. I hope that Cass gets feeling better!<br /><br />My companion is doing great! His family is working things out, so we<br />aren't really worried anymore!<br /><br />Phew, its been a crazy weekend! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1503450183" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Thursday</span></span> is the day we finally wrapped<br />up the iPad training (thank you!). Even though its over, we still get<br />about 10+ calls a day from missionaries throughout the mission having<br />one problem or another. Its great though! It keeps my techy skills<br />intact!<br /><br /><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1503450184" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Friday</span></span> was great! We were able to meet with a new family investigating the church</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
at one of our members homes! It was a crazy awesome lesson! We started off<br />talking about the Book of Mormon, but that changed to a lesson on<br />Eternal Familes, and being sealed in the temple, after we learned that<br />her father recently passed away. They seemed so interested in being </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
He couldn't come because of work... but thats okay! We will get him to come next week!<br /><br /><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1503450186" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Saturday</span></span> was pretty cool! We were walking to a Less Actives home (70<br />minutes round trip) and we street contacted into two guys! One was<br />from Portugal, and he had arrived in the Falls Church area less than a<br />week ago! So we taught him about the Book of Mormon. When we gave him<br />one, he seemed confused, because we weren't asking for money! It was<br />great! The other guy serves in the national guard. He wanted to know what </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
makes our church different from all of the others. We taught him a little </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
about the Restoration, and then we got a return appointment for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1503450187" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Tuesday</span></span>!</div>

We had our Turkish investigator who came to<br />sacrament meeting. She's still on date for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1503450189" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">this Sunday</span></span> (we are pretty<br />excited)! And we had the the sister I talked about before and her two kids! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sacrament meeting was perfect for them; it was all about faith in Jesus Christ.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then we had a musical number performed by a string ensemble "Army of Helaman".<br />Wow, the Spirit was there! We felt really good about it afterwards.<br /><br />As for all those wondering about the sleep issue, we are still working<br />on it! We are trying different avenues that we haven't explored yet.<br />I'm grateful for all of the prayers and the support I have been given!<br /><br />As I've been out, and particularly, as I've experienced this trial,<br />I've come to better understand the Atonement. I've come to know how to<br />use it better, and how to apply it in my life. I am so grateful for<br />the Savior, and for the gift of the Atonement that He gave me. Every<br />single time I use it, my appreciation and love for Him grows. I am<br />grateful for a loving Heavenly Father. I am grateful for the Plan of<br />Happiness that has been put together for our benefit. I know this<br />Church is true. I know that trials are here for us to grow and for us<br />to experience the bad, so that we may know the good. 2 Nephi 2 is a<br />great chapter. Read it some time!<br /><br />I love you all! Thank you for being there for me!<br /><br />-Elder Armstrong</div>

Well, it's been a crazy week! Full of sleepless nights and iPad training! Wooo! Haha.<br />
<br />
So Thursday night was a bummer night, but it ended on a positive note. We had two appointments drop us. One of them was an Egyptian man who we met when we ate at Chipotle. He informed us about an hour and a half before which was nice. The other appointment we had set up was with our family that we are teaching who are from Togo. We had a french speaking member with us, and we were so stoked. Alas, it was not meant to be. We knocked on the door... and there was no answer. We had another appointment with E though! He struggled to believe in three things. 1) Joseph Smith wasn't a Prophet, 2) Heavenly Father doesn't have a physical body, and 3) Jesus Christ isn't the Son of God. We were excited! Those three things are so easy to have resolved, as long as you are open to the answers. The way E can and will find out for himself, is through the Book of Mormon. We can't until he finds out the truthfulness of the Gospel!<br />
<br />
Friday, we had an appointment with our Turkish grandmother who doesn't speak any English. We found out that she wants to move her baptism to the 15th and be confirmed on the 16th. The 16th is her anniversary. We told her that it would be fine until we found out later that Stake Conference would be happening those two days. We moved her baptism to the 16th, and her confirmation til the 23rd! She is so amazing. We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or at least we tried to. She actually knows the Gospel better than we do, so we were taught by her... Haha! What a lady! I am pumped for her to come closer to Jesus Christ through baptism! She is so ready!<br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1906413123" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">On Monday</span></span>, we got our iPad training for us Mobile Device Specialists. That being said, we only got half a preparation day, so thats why we haven't emailed til now. The iPads are great, but really locked down-Which is fine. Now that I have one, I thought I'd enjoy it a lot, but I'm kinda at that "I dont hate it, but I dont like it much either" stage. They will be a great tool in Missionary work though!<br />
<br />
<i>(personal note from mom: These photos contradict his "I don't hate it but I don't like it much either" comment....I personally think he looks pretty excited!)</i><br />

<br />
<br />
Yesterday, we had a trial district training. We are the first mission to not have SLC send out someone to train missionaries on how to use the iPads. So we were being observed by someone from SLC, but he was just there to find out how well this new system of training worked. That took up our day yesterday.<br />

A little of both. Its like flat long hills. You are always either going up or down, but never flat. So the riding either requires a bit of endurance, or you'll end up just coasting everywhere.</div>

Man, this week has been a hectic one! We've had some really cool experiences! Right now, I'm on exchanges with Elder Capt-<i>(from our stake)</i>! He's my Zone Leader, and so we have the opportunity to go on exchanges! He is so awesome!<br />
<br />
I am so glad that everything is going pretty well at home! Man, all of my siblings are growing up!<br />
<br />
This week, we put S on date for Baptism on <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1940686844" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">March 1st</span></span>! We are so excited! (She is our turkish investigator)!<br />
<br />
I gave a talk <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1940686845" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Sunday</span></span>! One of the speakers called the Bishopric <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1940686846" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Friday</span></span> and was sick, so the Bishopric called me and Elder H (He's an Elder Serving in our ward). We talked with a Sister Missionary who just came home! We were able to talk about the Atonement and Missionary Work. There was a family who attended Sacrament Meeting because Elder H was speaking! It was great for them to hear!<br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1940686847" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Thursday</span></span> we had a major snowstorm and were able to do a ton of service! (Yes I stayed warm) We had some great contact with a ton of people! With 10" of Snow, in a culture that isn't used to it, people became more accepting to hear the gospel, or at least to know more about who we are! We have a new family to teach because of it!<br />
<br />
We also have a family who is now investigating the Gospel who are sincere seekers of truth. They are the R family, and its an interfaith home where the husband, He is muslim and the wife is Catholic. They are a really great family though, and they really want to read the Book of Mormon!<br />
<br />
During the snow storm we walked everywhere! It was great, but we didn't get to travel very far!<br />
<br />
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1940686848" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Friday</span></span> we had Zone Conference! So from <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1940686849" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">8:00AM-5:00PM</span></span> we were in meetings and what not. We got catered by Cafe Rio! After the Zone Conference, we went out and blitzed! What that means is we went out for the single purpose of getting as many copies of the Book of Mormon to people! (The whole zone did this). Our companionship got out 4 of them! Which was great on Valentine's Day night! We were excited!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<em>-did you make it to the temple yesterday? Sounds like lots of missionaries were there so I wondered.</em>We are only allowed to go once every 6 months to the temple, so we weren't able to go on yesterday, even though it was open. Lots of missionaries went though!<br />
<br />
<em>-Ohhh....are you exercising? besides the bikes which I understand is exercise, but more than that?</em><br />
I do excercise every morning, or at least I try to. Its gotten harder and harder each morning, as I'm struggling for lack of sleep, but I still try my best to at least do some yoga with the other Elders.<br />
<br />
<em>-what is different about your area/ward in the new place.<br />-How's the new comp?</em>I am absolutely loving Elder W! He is such a great guy, and we get along really well! This area has a lot more people home, and a lot more people out and about! Belmont Ridge was extremely quiet compared to this area!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<em><br /></em></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<em>-Did you get our package? </em></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I did get your package! Thank you so much! I absolutely loved all of it, especially Aleia's drawing!<br />
<br />
<em>-Will you try to make trips to the cool places you are by on your pdays? Holy cow! you are so close. Go explore!!!!</em>We want to try, but our p-days are pretty filled! We have a lot to do and so little time, but we are actually planning on getting a whitehouse tour and a D.C. tour soon!<br />
<br />
<em>-You think you'll be able to check out the farmers market on </em><i>Saturdays</i><em>?</em>Its possible! I'd have to ask President though, because it doesn't neccessarily fulfill our purpose of inviting others to come unto Christ, but it might be a good opportunity to meet plenty of people!<br />
<br />
<em>-Are you teaching more in this new area? It seems as though you are out with invesitgators more.</em>Yes! We have so many new and potential investigators! It is great! They call this Zone, "Miracle McLean" for a reason!<br />
<br />
<em>-What is your typical day there like?</em>Excercise, Breakfast, Study, Teach, travel, lunch, teach, travel, dinner, teach, travel, teach, travel, apartment, bed. Haha!<br />
<br />
I know this Church is true. I know that I'm out here for a reason! Christ knows us personally!<b> Please, read Alma 7:11-14</b>. It is a great section of scripture! I love you all!</div>

Tonight, Elder Armstrong and his companion joined me and my boyfriend (who is not a member) for dinner. I took a picture of them (see attached) so you know that he is being taken care of! I also sent home leftovers with them so they have a meal on a night when they may not have a dinner appointment. Your son shared a beautiful message about the Savior's love for each of us, and how He is able to understand and relate to us in our trials and obstacles. He and his companion used the scripture Alma 7:11-12. There was a strong spirit as they shared this message and they invited my boyfriend to take the discussions...my boyfriend is open to it but still processing. He may not take the discussions now, but a seed was definitely planted tonight. It was fun to chat with them during dinner as well. He is a happy guy. :) Enjoy the picture!</div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">So this was a crazy week! Everything from transfers, to movies, to new families!</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">So the beginning of this week was pretty sad. Because President Riggs had informed me that I was leaving, I was able to talk to pretty much everyone I wanted to say goodbye to. The hardest were Sister A (she's the one that had helped us teach S in her home. She pretty much became my Grandma and closest friend in Belmont Ridge) and the S family.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">I am now transferred to the Falls Church Ward! To send packages or write snail mail, my new address is:</span><br /><b>132 Chanel Terrace, Apt 104,</b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<b>Falls Church, VA 22046</b><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">The area is different than what I'm used to! Its like a mix of downtown SLC and Provo. Lots of little shops everywhere with the occasional high-rise building! My companion is Elder W and he is from Seattle, Washington. We get along pretty well!</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">So at transfers, President Riggs got permission to watch "The Sarratov Approach". Oh my gosh. That movie was amazing. I strongly encourage everyone to see it, both members and non-members! The whole mission attended and watched it.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">I am still a Technology Specialist! There are now four of us and Elder W and I, are two of them. Elder G (my last comp) and Elder L (he came out with me) are the other two! We are all excited to be the Tech Specialists.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;">My first night here, we met a family from Togo! They have two kids. They are so ready for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! There is a slight language barrier, but we were able to teach them the Restoration and leave two BoMs for them!</span><br /><br /><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_763926400" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; font-size: 13px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">On Friday</span></span><span style="font-size: x-small;">, we taught a lady named S. She's turkish, and she doesn't speak a lick of english! So we have to get a translator to help us out. Thankfully, the Lord has blessed us with a ward that has many foreign service people, so we get a lot of different language speakers in our ward! She is amazing! Its had a lot of unexpected twists!</span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
First, I'm being transferred this week, so please don't send me any mail, or it'll be awhile before I get it. By <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_188681524" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">next Monday</span></span>, everyone should be clear to send me mail to a new address that I'll send out.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Second, we have two new investigators that will be in this area! Their names are R, and K. The Sisters in the Singles Ward tracted into R. He's a 14 year old kid that is dating a Less-Active youth in our ward. I don't know his story, but Elder G and his new comp will be teaching him <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_188681525" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">this Saturday</span></span>!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
As for K, she is the girl that is a senior in high school. We had a family fun night with her and the F family last Monday. She told the F family that she wants to start the discussions! We are so excited! We will be teaching her tonight (Monday)!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
S has now officially dropped us. Sadly, since she has a new job, she is feeling content with her life and has told us that she doesn't want the gospel. Sister Anderson is still pretty set on continuing to fellowship her, so hopefully that all works out. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
We did go on exchanges this week. Elder J (our district leader) came here, and Elder G went over there. It was definitely a change, as Elder J and Elder G both have different personalities!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
We had a Family Fun Night with the A family. We watched Groundhog Day <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_188681526" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Saturday</span></span>! I was the only one who had seen it out of the four missionaries, so it was a must. They have clear-play so it was clean don't worry. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I am glad that Tayla did well in state! 4th is pretty darn good! Way to go PG! :)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I will definitely keep Dad in my prayers. I hope he gets better soon! </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
No, we did not get to see the Super Bowl. Several Members sent us the score once it was over though haha! We were betting to see which member texted us first. I won, of course! Haha.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I am so grateful for the temple! Way to go family on the fasting! :) That's awesome!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
The iPod is great! I'm loving it, because you can actually hear out of both headphones. Thanks Cass!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Clothing is great! Glasses are great! My watch is still functioning surprisingly! I'm okay on slacks, a member fixed one of the two ripped ones, so I have three that I can wear plus my 4 suit pants.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Everything is well! I'm so excited for my sweetheart to get out of the MTC and get to Mexico! :) She is going to do so well! It'll be different, but it'll be good!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Thank you everyone for all that you do! I'm grateful for the prayers and the letters that have been sent my way. If you haven't got a response from a previous letter I'm sorry! When you get busy its hard to keep track of who you've written and who you haven't, so if you get a moment in the next week, write me another and I promise I'll be more diligent in writing you back!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I know this Church is true. Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer. He suffered through so much just so that we all could have the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father. Please, take advantage of that opportunity. Use the Atonement whenever and however you can. It is so amazing!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I love you all!</div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">So its been a pretty crazy week. </span><span style="color: #222222;"><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">We
have four family fun nights in the four days!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">Just
so everyone knows and isn't confused, a Family Fun Night is a FHE setting, with
the missionaries. We have been told by President Riggs to get as many of these
as possible. The missionaries are supposed to bring a 5-10 minute Spiritual
Thought, and the Family is supposed to prepare the activity, which is anything
except going to the movie theaters, and anything that would disrupt the Spirit.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span style="background: white;"><span data-term="goog_1589275488" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">Friday</span></span></span></span><span style="background: white;">, we
had a family fun night with the G family, A less-active part member family. We
had shown up at<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span data-term="goog_1589275489" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">6:00PM</span></span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"> (the
arranged time) and we had a dinner at<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span data-term="goog_1589275490" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">7:00Pm</span></span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"> with
a different family. When we walked into their home, we smelled delicious
breakfast food. Elder G and I eyed each other with the "oh no" look,
but walked in anyway. We called our dinner appointment and told them we were
going to be late (which they were totally fine with). We enjoyed breakfast for
dinner and then we watched Despicable Me 1. We ran over to our dinner appointment
soon afterward and then ate more food (Heavenly Father answers prayers!!!!!!!!).</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span style="background: white;"><span data-term="goog_1589275491" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">Saturday</span></span></span></span><span style="background: white;">, we
had a family fun night with the W Family. Elder K and Elder S were supposed to
come but ended up getting caught in a lesson, so they weren't able to show up.
We played Super Smash Bros (of course I kicked butt ;) ) and then we played
Liars Dice.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span style="background: white;"><span data-term="goog_1589275492" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">Monday</span></span></span></span><span style="background: white;">, we
ate dinner and had a nonmember at the F family’s house. Her name is K and she
is a Senior in high school. We had a Family Fun Night after dinner with her and
the family and it went really well. She is a potential investigator, and we
can't wait to meet with her. Right now its finals week so we were going to try
and meet with her sometime next week.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">After
the F family, Elder G and I got the impression to go to the W's house. We've been
working with GW (a Junior, who is in our ward) and we have grown
really close to him. Anyway, we went over<span class="aqj"> on Monday</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"> night,
just to say Hi and to check on him. They invited us in and we ended up watching
Atlantis! I haven't seen that show in forever. The thought was well received,
and it was quite enjoyable.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">We
weren't able to meet with S this week, Sadly. But the good news is that she got
a full time job!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited for her! We have always had the
feeling that once she got a more stable situation, that she would be able to
progress so much faster!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">Elder K
didn't break anything this week... haha! Surprisingly! It was a good week.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">Yesterday,
we went to the D.C. Temple! It is so beautiful! I love that temple. We also got
to see the new movie that was released like a week ago! Awesome right? The
Spirit was really strong. I really do have a testimony of the power of temple
work!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">On the
way over to the library today, we saw a lady shoveling her driveway. Oh,
did I mention that it snowed?! Like a ton?! It was crazy! I think we have 5
inches here, at least! Anyway, we offered to shovel it for her and we were able
to talk to her for a good 30 minutes about church, and religion and the Gospel!
Her name is V, and we can't wait to meet with her sometime. We have her number
and she has ours. We are planning to go shovel it<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span data-term="goog_1589275494" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">tomorrow</span></span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"> because
it is supposed to snow again<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span class="aqj"><span style="z-index: -1;"><span data-term="goog_1589275495" style="z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">on Thursday</span></span></span>.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">I know
this Church is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and the Redeemer.
He paid the price so that we can return to our Heavenly Father again, if we
come unto Him. He can help us through our trials. I know that prayers are
answered, as long as we have faith, and as long as we are willing to act upon
the answer. Our Heavenly Father loves us. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;">I love
all of you!</span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Arrow! Yes! I'm glad you are still watching it! Such a great show! What do you think of it so far?</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Way to go Tay! He has family up there and so he went and visited them before Christmas. The last time we talked about it he seemed super excited for it, but I guess we will find out when he gets back.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" /><br />

So the deal with Elder K's tire.... Hahah! He got a brand new back rim (for free, via the warranty) <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1961727290" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Wednesday</span></span>night. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1961727291" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Thursday</span></span> we were riding to Spokes, our local repair shop, to get his bike fine-tuned. He went up the sidewalk ramp and started riding on the grass when suddenly his front rim bent into a taco shape, and he flew over the handle bars! Oh my gosh, we were dying with laughter. I remember him lying on the ground saying, "Crap, did my tire break?" Haha! We then bent it into a rideable state, and he rode it for the next 1.5 miles to Spokes with a flat, and a bent rim. It was great! Heavenly Father has a great sense of humor!</div>

It was there we found out that she had a few tasers, and Elder K got the bright idea that being tased was on his bucket list. So he volunteered. And absolutely loved it! He's crazy... Haha!<br /><br />We've been working with a kid. He is a less-active in our ward who is a self-proclaimed atheist. He's awesome! He still attends seminary every day and will come to church once a month. Elder G has really made a connection with him because they both love and play guitar! (Of course this kids is way better than Elder G). Their family loves to have us over. We are really excited that we were able to connect with him, because he was really unreceptive when Elder F and I tried before.<br /><br />We finally met with S again for the first time in a month. She is doing well! We talked about temples and some of the blessings that temples bring into our lives. She would love to go there one day, but her kids are extremely set against church, especially our church. We are hoping we can connect with them too, so that they can all receive the blessings of the Gospel!<br /><br />I know this Church is true. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that He suffered and died so that we can experience true happiness by using the Atonement. I testify of the power of that Atonement. How great it is! It has helped me get through countless experiences, and has blessed my life innumerable times. I am so grateful for the blessing of having access to the Spirit. I'm grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves us enough to let us learn and grow, and to know for ourselves what is right and what is wrong.<br /><br />I love you all! Thank you for everything!<br />-Elder Dexton J. Armstrong</div>

Hey, its a new year!</div>

So as you probably know, we have had cold weather. We've actually had two ice storms the last few days, which are awesome! I love them! I just feel bad for the people that don't know how to handle them out here. We try and ride our bikes (it cuts down the travel time by at least half) but if it is extremely icy or snowy, we will walk or ask for rides. And surprisingly it hasn't seemed cold enough to use the hand warmers, but thanks for the reminder!<br /><br />It sounds like a great week! I'd love to see The Saratov Approach! It sounds like a great movie, from what I've heard. New Years sounds like it was a party! ;). Our New Years Eve was actually quite fun. We had a family fun night with the A family and the M family. We were able to watch Despicable Me 2! We really enjoyed it.<br /><br />I'm glad that the RS was able to have a temple activity! I miss going to the temple. Out here I've realized what a blessing it is to have a temple so close back home. We only get to go once every 3 months, and we can only go if a member takes us.<br /><br />I'm glad J made it to visit at the house! Haha yeah, we had some good times playing soccer! I love that guy. I'll try and get that picture for you guys!<br /><br />I loved the Christmas cards I sent you too! We have a Sister in our ward (Sister Rose Dall) who is quite the artist. Her house is covered with beautiful paintings. She gave Elder G and I love those cards! She is really awesome! You should look up some of her other paintings online!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

<a href="http://www.rosedatocdall.com/" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">www.rosedatocdall.com</a><br /><br />I miss Grandma B as well! Especially since I was able to borrow a cello this week. I remember when she took me to that "All-Cello" concert! But I know she is in a better place and that she is happily helping the work to progress!<br /><br />Our church started at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_727850337" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">11AM</span></span>, which I wasn't used to! I'm used to the <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_727850338" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">9AM</span></span> church, but it'll be a nice change!<br /><br />So as for my new tech specialist calling, I still have no idea. We probably won't find out until <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_727850339" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">February 18th</span></span>, which is a month away... I think they are waiting til we get iPads and then they will train us.<br /><br />Haha yes and no. I'll play around with the Harmonica, but nothing serious. Especially now that I have a cello to play on!<br /><br />So the story behind the cello... We had a priest who left on his mission, and he was quite the cello player. Elder G wanted to learn the cello a bit, and I missed playing the cello so we asked the J family if we could borrow it for a few weeks. They were quite nice about it and agreed to let us use it! So now we have a cello in our apartment that we play before we go to bed. I love it!</div>

<br /><br />I was able to have my first facebook lesson! It was quite interesting but stressful and nerve-racking, but it went okay! I got a referral from a friend back home for someone. He has issues with same-gender attraction and he was wondering if Mormons hated gays. I was able to talk with him about how we don't hate gays, but that is against Heavenly Father's commandments. I shared with him the <a href="http://mormonsandgays.org/" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">mormonsandgays.org</a> website and he felt better. He said he really really wanted to be done with those feelings that he had and I promised him that if he prayed, gave his all, and strived to keep all of the commandments that he would be blest. It wouldn't be easy, but it would be worth it!<br /><br />It was a neat experience! I'm glad Heavenly Father was able to bless me to be able to answer his questions!<br /><br />I know this Church is true. I know Heavenly Father lives, and that He loves each of us. Jesus Christ is our Savior, and He knows us. He knows what we are going through, and He can help us. Prayer is powerful. I know that with my heart and my soul.</div>

This week was definitely a rollercoaster week! It has been more on the upside though!<br /><br /><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002285" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Tuesday</span></span>-<br />Had our first district meeting since transfers. We had four people leave from our district, so that means four more came in. (Which is half our district). Our district meeting wasn't the same, which is okay, because change is good!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br />After District Meetings, we got picked up by Brother M<span style="font-size: 13px;"> ( a great member from Elder G old area). He took us to Five Guys, which we usually can't go to because we don't have a car. It was Delicious!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br />We ate at the J Family's home. We actually had a great spiritual thought and a great Christmas Eve with them. They made great food and their kids were really awesome! After, we did a white elephant gift exchange. I ended up getting a hotwheels sized tractor! Elder G got a skeleton that grows bigger in water.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br />I also opened my "Christmas Eve" package from Grandma lyn! Which of course included my Christmas PJs, and a Christmas book! I was really excited! I also got a ton of Christmas letters, which I was really thankful for!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002286" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002286" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Wednesday</span></span>-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Brother M picked us up at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002287" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">7:20 AM</span></span> and took us to his apartment. We chilled with 12 other missionaries Christmas Morning! He's a really cool member. He got gifts for every missionary, and that included me, even though he had just met me the day previous. He got me a pack of Vanilla Coke! haha we had talked a little bit about it the day previous at Five Guys!<br /><br />We opened all of our presents at Brother M house! it was definitely a party! I'm grateful for the scarf and the gloves they are definitely going to help when it is cool!<br /><br />He took us back to our place by <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002288" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">11:50</span></span>. We went to the B Family's house and they let us go in their basement to Skype! President gave us an hour to Skype, which was great! I loved seeing you guys! I loved the questions you all had! I also loved seeing Pixie do a few tricks, even though she didn't seem like she enjoyed seeing me ;).<br /><br />after, we played Mario Kart with the B Family! haha it was great! I schooled everyone ;).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
We ate dinner that night at the R family's house. it was like Thanksgiving dinner all over again, and it was really delicious! Their family reminds me of our family!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Christmas out here was different though! We were able to talk to a few people (members and nonmembers) and the Spirit was more present than I had noticed before. No one really stood out as a potential investigator, but I know that they were touched by the Spirit. People were definitely more willing to talk to us!<br /><br /><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002289" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Thursday</span></span>-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Went by slowly. S couldn't meet that night, which was sad, so we went about visiting members and trying to visit potentials. we are always looking for ways to serve, but Its hard out here! We keep it up though!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002290" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Friday</span></span>-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
We had set up an appointment with S, but then Sister A felt sick. So we had to cancel that appointment. I'm kinda bummed that S only likes to meet in Sister A's house, but everyone has their needs, and we are willing to work with her!<br /><br /><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002291" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Saturday</span></span>-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I got sick. not sure what it was, but it hit me pretty hard, so we stayed inside so we didn't get anyone sick. I fell asleep a couple of times, but then felt better after!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1172002292" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;"><br /></span></span></div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
S didn't show :(. but we had several Less-actives come, which was really great to see them there! We've been trying to work with them more, and it seems to have helped!<br /><br />We tried visiting a potential investigator and we actually got a return appointment! It made me really happy!<br /><br />That's pretty much the summary of our week!<br /><br />I love you all! Thank you for all the support and the love! You have no idea how much it helps, even if it was just a letter!<br /><br />I know that this church is true. I know that Heavenly Father loves us. I know that our Savior suffered for us, so that we can return and live with our Heavenly Father. I am ever so grateful for the Atonement and its power!</div>

We had Elder Karbach with us the first three days of the week M,T,W.</div>

We drove Elder R around. Because of the unusual transfer to get the returning missionaries home before Christmas, they went home on Tuesday. So we had to drive Elder R all over (departing interviews, mailing, and the mission home). We were probably in the car for 6 hours!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Tuesday-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
We had district meetings (as was usual) but we got a conference call (broadcasted through to the whole mission). President Riggs just talked about our highs and lows for the mission. As a mission we are number 1 in baptisms, we have a really high activity rate, and we are great with the members. The only thing we really struggle with is finding people. Elder F found out Tuesday night that he was leaving.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Wednesday-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Cleaning, baking cookies (Elder F wanted to say goodbye to a few people and give them cookies), and packing. We only had time to say goodbye to a few people.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Thursday-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Transfer meeting! Elder F got moved to Alexandria! I'm really missing him.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
My new companion is Elder G. He is a musically talented kid. He's probably the next music prodigy! He's also great at taking things apart, and learning how they work, and then putting them back together! He loves cameras and movies and pictures! He's been out for about 6 months</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Elder K's new comp is Elder S. Elder S is from Kawaii! He's been out for almost a year now! He's pretty cool.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
We all get along pretty well, except for the fact that he and Elder S want to change everything in our area. We are working it out though!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Friday-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Crazy planning day. We visited a few members and dropped off cookies to members Elder F and I weren't able to visit. We ate at Carolina Brothers (Missionaries eat free, and its a bbq place). Elder G is in love! Elder K also killed his back tire when he went off a small jump!<br />

Sunday-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Had our Christmas day program. We also had a Christmas Concert that night for all of the four wards in the area and for anyone who wanted to come. "S" came to the Concert but left early because she wasn't feeling well. We talked to several nonmembers who attended, and it was great because the Spirit was there! We even talked to a Catholic who was really impressed! He's not in our area though.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I'm glad that everything is working out back home! Poor Zoey! I hope she isn't in pain! That sounds about right for Shash though! He is probably having a great time with Mark! Haha thinking about those two makes me laugh! I love them both! Haha crazy Pixie! She always was a rebel when it came to haircuts ;).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Sounds like the family is being crazy again! Busy schedules, especially with the Holiday season! I'm glad Tay is doing well. Poor Daws! Yeah, missing school for awhile could definitely cause problems. Cass will be able to do well in school! I know she can do it! Aleia has always been the "star" of our family!!! Haha!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I know this Church is true, and that Our Savior lives and loves each of us! He is there for anything we need. I know that for a fact. I know that as we pray, we come to know Him better than ever. I am ever grateful for His sacrifice. This time of year is really special. I love the Christmas Season and the joy it brings to all of us.</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I know that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of our Heavenly Father. He restored the true church through Joseph. We have the authority of God. I have a testimony of the power of the Priesthood. I am so glad that I am worthy to hold that Priesthood</div>

All of our teaching appointments fell through. Most were at the beginning of the week when it was snowing, and S canceled again, but she surprised us by showing up yesterday to church! We were extremely glad to see her and to see that she wants to be there!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
We had our Mission Christmas Conference/ "party" <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1233348434" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Friday</span></span>, and then had our ward Christmas Party <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1233348435" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Saturday</span></span>. One of the members offered us a good sized artificial tree, so we took it! So now we have a few christmas trees throughout our apartment. :)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
We bought Christmas lights and put them up everywhere in the apartment. It looks pretty festive in there!<br /><br />Elder R is going home this week. He leaves <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1233348436" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">tomorrow</span></span>. At the beginning of the transfer, he was really trunkie (meaning that he couldn't stop thinking of the things he wanted to do when he got home). Now, he doesn't want to leave. It's been really cool to see the change that happened over the transfer.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
It sounds like you guys have had a crazy week! It seems like it has been a lot of fun though! Way to go Tayla! I'm glad they finally got the ranking in the drill competition they deserve! ;).</div>

<br />
Family!<br />
<br />
How is everything going? The last few days have been kinda crazy! Snow is everywhere!<br />
<br />
So I'll describe a little bit of how we tract! First, we pull out a map of our area and Elder F & I will both pick 3 streets mentally and then we tell them to each other. Surprisingly, we always pick on street similar to each other! So that is where we go tracting for that day!<br />
<br />
So far, we've only encountered one family that is a potential investigator from tracting! We haven't been able to contact them since the first visit, but it's been good!<br />
<br />
We go the the door and knock. Elder F & I switch off talking @ each door. We tell them that we are representatives of Jesus Christ and that we can help them and their family have happiness. If they decline, we generally offer to do service for them! I've only had one door slammed so it's been kinda nice.<br />
<br />
It's sometimes intimidating to be the parent of me? Man, I didn't realize I was that bad of a child! :-) Hahah just kidding! Yeah, Kellie sent me an audio recording of her talk! It was really awesome! She did a great job! I'm excited for her to be a missionary!<br />
<br />
Did Cassia's letter ever arrive? What about her bday card? You didn't mention it, so I was kinda worried.<br />
<br />
So this last week I've hit 190 miles on my odometer! It kinda blows my mind that I've ridden that many miles in almost 3 months! Thats about 15 miles a week!<br />
<br />
I want you all to know that I'm trying my very best to do all I can out here. I'm sorry if I fail or if I am not able to be successful in all I do. I just want you to know that I'm going to give all I can before I ever give up with anything!!<br />
<br />
I know this Church is true. I know that the Savior lives and that He died so that we can return to our Father in Heaven. Our Heavenly Father loves us. He knows us personally and can call us by name. Joseph Smith really did restore the truth of the Gospel.<br />
<br />
I love you all!!<br />

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
I loved the pictures in dropbox! haha I miss you guys! You guys seem to have had a lot of crazy fun this last week!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
So yes, the weather was crazy yesterday! The snow started to fall at about <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010011" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">8:00AM</span></span>, so we walked through it to Church! Lets just say Elder F was in heaven! He was in a daze trying to touch as much of the snow as he possibly could! I just laughed at him, and he ignored me! At each hour of Church, they would say, "We've checked on the weather, and it seems like we will continue. If it gets worse, we will dismiss you so you can get home safely". It really blew my mind that they would cancel church because of an inch or two of snow.... Haha!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
We actually got a text yesterday from the Assistants to the President that told us to stay home as much as possible, and if we needed to go anywhere that we should get a ride from members! So yesterday we just chilled in our apartment with Elder R and Elder K.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
Oh man! I bet Kellie did a great job with her missionary farewell talk! She is really amazing! I am proud of her and Mexico is going to be very blessed to receive her! Way to go Kel!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
So we actually haven't seen S in a while. Sadly, the last two weeks have been crazy. This week we will try and visit her, but we would need a male adult if we actually wanted to teach her a lesson.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010012" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">On Monday</span></span> we met with the S Family. They are a Catholic Family that really loves LDS Members! They have a great opinion of our church. We taught them the Restoration as a practice lesson. What better way to practice than to practice with nonmembers? We extended a baptism invite at the end, and Mr. S said, "right now, I'm Catholic, and I don't feel I need to change, but if I ever feel otherwise, I'd love to be baptized!" That made us really happy!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010013" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Tuesday</span></span> we had Zone Conference. President Riggs, Sister Riggs, and our Zone Leaders taught us about Repentance, Faith, and Commitments. I love President Riggs. He really is inspired of God. He is one of the smartest men that I have ever known! ( I Guess that's what happens when you become an attorney....)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010014" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Wednesday</span></span>, I got a fever, but I still tried my best to do missionary work. After dinner, I came back and fell asleep. After about 3 hours I woke up, having broke the fever! So I wasn't sick for long!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010015" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Thursday</span></span> we were excited to meet with Sarah, but things got canceled. So sadly went about finishing our day by talking to members.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010016" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Friday</span></span> is always one of the busiest days of the week! We have weekly planning on Fridays, so we are pretty much busy until <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010017" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">5:00 PM</span></span> planning for the next week, and going and doing our facebook and Mormon.org time. It was really cold and rainy! But my clothes kept me warm!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1254010018" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Saturday</span></span>, we played soccer with some members and nonmembers again! It was muddy, and extremely fun! No progress with the nonmembers, but one of them offered us a ride from the field back to our apartments! So the seeds are starting to grow!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
So, when Christmas comes around, I should be able to Skype with you! There are a lot of people with Skype who are willing to let us use them. But last resort would be calling you on a Phone!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
Oh by the way, JS will be driving to Utah from here. He told me that if there was anything I wanted to be delivered to our house that he could drop it off near New Years! So hopefully I can get something together!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
I love you all so much! This church is true. Our Father in Heaven knows us. He loves us more than we can ever comprehend. Jesus Christ is the Savior and our Lord. He died so that we could return to live with our Heavenly Father. I love Him, and I am so grateful for all that He has done for us.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">
Love,</div>
